Episode 53 of Vefa Sultan begins in a garden, where Ahmed has finally opened the secret of his heart. Soon the Sheikh sends his seekers out to find souls worthy of his garden, and each of them has to decide what a flower really means. At the madrasa, the Head Teacher position puts a long friendship under heavy strain. Here is a spoiler-light look at what happens, with the ending left for you to watch.
Kamil and Lutfi Fall Out Over the Robe
Hace asks Molla Lutfi to take the Head Teacher position and the palace library. Kamil sees Izari’s whispers behind it and accuses Lutfi of falling for a rank. The quarrel gets so loud that the students hear it from the classrooms. Lutfi first says he came to withdraw his candidacy, then changes his mind in anger. Later the two end up in a leaking boat, and each tries to jump so the other can live. Their answer is to sink or land together, and they return to the madrasa soaked and reconciled.
The Sheikh Sends His Seekers to Find a Flower
Vefa Sultan tells his Erens to look through the market and the bazaar for souls that befit the garden. Selman worries that he will not grasp the wisdom of the task. His wife suggests the chrysanthemum, the flower that endures the frost. Yareli speaks of the rose and tells Davud to learn its language and to find the one that does not perform dhikr. Davud says he can barely hear those that do. In the end, each seeker brings his own flower to the Sheikh and explains what it means.

Cemsit and Hursit are still hunting for treasure, and they remember the house that once landed them in a dungeon. Meanwhile a dervish goes to a flower shop for a flower with meaning. The shop owner has forgotten the lilies at home and invites him to come and collect them. The dervish is wary and keeps to the doorway.
