In Episode 19, Mahmud Effendi climbs out of the well of self and learns from his Sheikh that his training is complete. The order to settle in Sivrihisar unsettles his family, and Safiye asks the Sheikh to reconsider. Meanwhile, gossip spreads among the disciples, Ramadan passes, and Eid arrives in Brusa. The Well and the Lesson of Faith
Mahmud Effendi meets Mansur Effendi, who tells him that wells are good, because the deeper the well you enter, the higher the peak you climb when you emerge. Later Mahmud tells his Sheikh he fell into a well on the way and that Mansur Effendi pulled him out. The Sheikh then speaks about faith and trust, recalling how Abu Bakr answered the mocking mushriks after the Prophet’s night journey. He says this kind of faith makes the impossible possible, and he links the grapes Mahmud brought to the same faith and trust.
A Family Divided Over Sivrihisar
At home Mahmud explains that his Sheikh has made him a caliph and that the family will move to Sivrihisar. Safiye does not know whether to be happy or sad, since they had just settled in Brusa, and their son Mustafa worries about finding a madrasah like Ferhadiye. Safiye then visits the Sheikh to ask that Mahmud stay in Brusa. The Sheikh answers that when the time comes for a bird to fly, it cannot be kept in the nest, and he asks her to stand by her husband.

Note: Your TV and your phone, tablet, laptop or a PC need to be on the same network. Gossip, Apology and Eid in Brusa
After Safiye’s visit, the disciples begin to look coldly at Mahmud, because Muhammed Effendi gossiped about him out of envy. Troubled, Muhammed confesses to the Sheikh, who explains the difference between slander and gossip and advises him to seek forgiveness. He then apologizes to Mahmud, and Safiye later urges her husband to forgive before they leave. On Eid morning the lodge gathers for hymns, a talk, and the Eid namaz, and the Seyyid asks Mahmud for his blessing.
