In Episode 48 of Mehmed Fetihler Sultani, the search for Notaras grips the capital. Halil Candarli sends his men as far as the Serbian border, while Zaganos Pasha quietly has plans of his own. Sultan Mehmed orders preparations for war against Pontus, and Ali Bey and Bali Bey ride north with a Chepni guide named Selami. Vlad Tepes also arrives for a reunion with Mehmed. Everything pulls toward a quiet inn, where Halil Pasha rides out alone.
The Hunt for Notaras
Halil Candarli loses his calm when Atmaca admits that Notaras was not in his mansion. Halil fears that if anyone else catches Notaras first, what he knows could bring them all down, so he orders Atmaca to find him before the Sultan does. Zaganos Pasha is already a step ahead. He tells Notaras to help him trap Halil and mentions his pregnant daughter. Zaganos then lets word spread that Notaras is hiding at an inn on the Simre road. Dogan tries to stop Halil from riding out alone.
War Council and Preparations
At the council, Mehmed presses Halil Pasha on who he bargained with to learn Agamemnon’s name, and Zaganos argues against punishing the Grand Vizier. Later, both pashas warn that the treasury is thin and that a new war needs years of preparation. The Sultan rejects that caution. He tells Ishak Pasha to prepare roads, bridges and timar cavalry, Bahadir Pasha to add 60 galleys, and Zaganos to calculate every expense. Halil must lead the whole process with no mistakes and no delays. Earlier, the shipyard shows off its first completed galley.

Ali Bey and Bali Bey travel toward Pontus with Selami of the Chepnis, who leads them along the harder northern road. Julius, acting for Aleksandros, sets an ambush and promises a sack of gold for every Turkish head. The fight is costly, and Selami does not survive it. Ali Bey later stands before Aleksandros and refuses to bow. In the capital, Vlad Tepes visits Mehmed, and the two old friends share a warm reunion over sarmale. Meanwhile Halil reaches the inn, and the final scene begins.
