Episode 74 opens with Vlad’s cannons firing on Mehmed’s camp, and the Sultan comes through it alive. Vlad flees north with Katarina while Bahadir Pasha and Bali Bey follow his trail through forests and caves. In Bosnia, the conquest turns into the work of ruling. Mehmed announces tax relief, calls Rose Hatun to the new province, and faces a dispute over Saint Mary Church. He also deals sternly with soldiers who mistreated local women.
The Hunt for Vlad
After the cannon fire, Mehmed’s troops drive back the Wallachians and Vlad escapes with a serious wound. Katarina refuses to let him give up, and the two split from their men to leave a false trail. Bahadir Pasha tells Bali Bey that Vlad believes he owes him his life, and that he wants to see whether his own hand will tremble. Bali Bey warns him that showing mercy could cost him his head. The search runs through tunnel-filled caves and ends in a face-to-face meeting.
Bosnia Under Ottoman Rule
At the first state council in Bosnia, Mehmed orders that nobody pays taxes for five years. He also orders the castles repaired and fountains, inns, roads and mosques built. He asks the Janissaries to be kind and rejects Stefan as a local governor, preferring an akinji bey. Ishak Pasha then suggests Minnetoglu Mehmed Bey, and Mehmed agrees he may be a fit. Mehmed compares the state to a plane tree that needs deep roots. Later, Bosnian families ask for their sons to join the hearth, and he offers a place at Enderun School.

Ishak Pasha admits the matter is sensitive, so Rose offers to speak to Aron, whom she calls her father’s friend. Meanwhile Mehmed punishes Janissaries after an old woman complains about how they treated women at the fountain. The ending is best left for you to watch.
