“You can put us in the cells. However, you can not imprison the truth, Hasan Padishah.”
Episode 86 of Mehmed Fetihler Sultani turns on a forged seal. Savcu Bey is condemned in Tabriz, and Gedik Ahmed Pasha and Bali Bey are thrown into the cells. In Constantinople, Mehmed studies the same seal and sees a flaw that points to a plot. Saruca Pasha lies wounded, the foundry has lost its fire, and the Ottoman akinjis prepare a desperate move. Here is what happens, with no spoilers for the final scene.
The Seal That Was Never Pressed Directly
Uzun Hasan’s court accepts the seal as proof, and Gedik Ahmed Pasha is told he will be tried on Friday. In Constantinople, Mehmed shows his pashas that the engraving is faint where it should be sharp. He concludes the seal was first pressed into something soft, like beeswax. Savcu Bey is not guilty but the victim of a plan, and he is secretly kept in Rum Mehmed Pasha’s house. Mehmed announces the opposite on purpose, so the plotter believes the trick worked and is drawn into the open.
Tore Bey Speaks Against His Khan
Tore Bey cannot accept the story. He sees a messenger with a broken jaw and bruises, found hanged in a place where only someone from inside the palace could reach him. He tells Mirza Ugurlu it was a murder, not a suicide. Hasan refuses to listen, and the exchange ends badly. Hasan reminds Tore of twenty years of friendship and sends him away. Tore then rides out to stop Shamil Bey and the akinjis, and Shamil Bey asks him why a man would lie even when he is about to die.
