Baycu Noyan Keeps Efsun Alive
The episode begins in the Mongol camp. Baycu Noyan learns that his men tried to kill someone without his order. They answer that Cormagon Noyan told them to take her life. Baycu makes his rule clear: if a life is to be taken, he will be the one to take it. He tells Efsun she will live with him. Later she says she accepted because of helplessness and loneliness, and adds that it may be her slow way of killing him, as his wife. A traveler on Mongol lands also insists that the ground is still Seljuk land.
Shams-i Tabrizi Returns and Hearts Soften
News spreads through Konya that Sultan Veled has brought Shams-i Tabrizi back, and people head for the madrasa. The group that denied Shams admits its mistake. They say they are ashamed and defeated, and they ask for forgiveness. Mevlana replies that forgiveness belongs to Allah, but he lets his own pardon be halal to them. Alaeddin hesitates at the threshold, and he is welcomed as a brother. Later, one of the two friends explains why he went away, and the reunion leaves a line fans will remember.
