The Siege of Ascalon
In Season 2, Episode 29, the Knights Templar laid siege to Ascalon, a city crucial to Jerusalem’s defense. Saladin wanted to assist, knowing the danger to the Zengid lands if Ascalon fell. Despite the state council denying his request, Saladin went to help, determined to protect Ascalon. Love Amidst Conflict During the battle, Saladin found himself falling for Süreyya, the daughter of the Emir of Ascalon. They shared a spark, but their loyalty to opposing sides complicated things.
