Firewood, a Hedgehog and a Sudden Collapse
The episode opens with Yarell and Salman sorting firewood for the lodge, and a lesson that straight wood belongs at the door while crooked wood does not. Celaleddin is distracted and points to a sleeping hedgehog that protected the provisions by eating an insect. When Hamit asks what is wrong, Celaleddin admits to struggling to find a place in the lodge. The Sheik then speaks about uniting the tongue and the heart, and being awake to the path. Soon after, the Sheik collapses and the dervishes call for help.
Mustafa Is Given the Task
Resting after the doctors’ visit, the Sheik tells Karamani that the responsibility for order and discipline will not fall on Karamani’s shoulders this time, but on Mustafa’s. Mustafa then announces the decision to the gathered dervishes. Later, a visitor asks whether Mustafa is qualified, and the Sheik answers that Mustafa was on fire and that the fire should be directed, not extinguished. Celaleddin asks Mustafa for the task of giving conversation to the dervishes, but Mustafa refuses, because the Sheik ordered that no duties be undertaken.

Her father Zinnur Effendi tells her that hesitation is the worst decision. Zinnur Effendi later visits Mustafa with questions about love and the will. The episode closes with Mustafa going to the Sheik and asking whether something he saw was good or bad.
