“Do not fear loss on the path of love”
Episode 45 of Vefa Sultan opens in the quiet that follows Ahmed’s funeral. Belinay Hatun cannot bring herself to drink, Hatice grieves in silence, and Mustafa has shut himself away from everyone, including his dervishes. When his friend Kamil confronts him about a secret he has carried since Medina, Mustafa decides to leave his seclusion. What follows is a series of tests, voices and visions that ask whether his friends, and his own heart, can bear this loss.
Belinay Hatun and Hatice Mourn Ahmed
The episode begins with condolences for the family, and then moves to Belinay Hatun, who refuses to drink because her son is under the ground. Hatice tries to comfort her, telling her mother that Ahmed is not under the ground and that angels took him to heaven. Leyla takes Hatice out to the garden, then reminds Belinay that she still has another child who feels her pain inside. Belinay admits she cannot help it. She says it is as if she was buried in the soil together with Ahmed.
Kamil Confronts Mustafa in Seclusion
Kamil finds Mustafa preparing for a guest in the seclusion at night. He reminds him that he no longer sits with the dervishes or the public, and asks about the dream in Medina, when Ahmed handed him a bag. Mustafa admits he prayed hard there and said he could accept the pain and tears, without understanding what he was accepting. Kamil gives him a choice: be crushed by the secret, or face himself and his heart. Mustafa leaves the room to face it.

Worried Dervishes and a Test of Friendship
Outside, the dervishes gather and wonder why their Sheikh has been silent since the funeral. Some want to see him, while others say Kamil will tell them when he comes out. Mustafa then goes to see his friends himself. Yareli, Salman and Celaleddin all say they are too busy with their work, and none of them has time to share his burden. A voice soon pushes him toward solitude and fame, and Mustafa pushes back. Then a vision begins that puts his faith to the test.
