“Man plans, and fate laughs.”
Episode 5 of Güneşin Doğduğu Yer opens with Leyla in handcuffs after police find gold in her house in Teneke Mahallesi. Munise refuses to leave her side, and the Kozan family scrambles to untangle what happened. Meanwhile Kenan’s temper has put a man in the hospital, Celadet’s plans start to unravel, and a marriage proposal for Munise goes wrong. Here is a spoiler-light recap of the episode.
The Raid in Teneke Mahallesi
Police arrive at Leyla’s home and cuff her after a tip about stolen gold. Munise, who had gone to ask Leyla who handed Emir to his mother, is caught up in it too. Commissioner Mehmet Tekinci finds the gold in the house and says the report came from the Kozan mansion. Munise refuses to go home alone and insists on being locked up with Leyla. Ceyhun and Lawyer Adil step in, and both women are released, though the prosecutor’s office will keep investigating. Leyla then accuses Celadet of planting the gold, and the argument spills into the street.
Kenan, Sacit and a Fight Gone Too Far
On the land, Sacit speaks badly of Kenan’s household, and Kenan beats him. At the hospital the doctor reports a linear skull fracture and continuing bleeding, so Kenan can only wait through the night. He tells his brother Ihsan that Allah has punished him for what he did to Leyla. Back at the mansion, Kenan learns from his mother that she reported Leyla, and he insists it must never be done through slander. Hanzade, hurt, says she has seen how Kenan looks at Leyla.
