“Courage is for us and cowardice for the enemy!”
Episode 193 of Kuruluş Osman opens after a failed advance. Claudius knew which road the Kayi would take, so Osman pulls back to Goynuk and starts to suspect a traitor among his own people. Halime lies wounded after Sofia’s attack on the caravan, and Bala waits by her side. Osman prepares to besiege Mudurnu, but the victory he wins brings a new danger. This page covers the main events of the episode, which you can watch here with English subtitles.
Goynuk, Justice and a Hidden Traitor
After the ambush, Osman tells his Beys that a land is conquered by the sword but can only be ruled with justice. He gives Koca Bey command of Goynuk and orders that the loot be used to rebuild the town, so that the non-Muslims lack nothing. Turgut Ghazi and Osman agree that a traitor must be passing information to Claudius, and Osman vows to find the snake. Meanwhile Yigit gathers the Greek merchants with the help of Eleni Hatun, who is secretly working for Claudius and Sofia.
The Siege of Mudurnu and the Riot in Goynuk
Before the assault, Turgut Ghazi reminds the tired alps of Kurshad and his forty warriors and lifts their spirits. A scout reports that the water channel in the west is the weakest point of the walls, and the catapults finally open a breach. While the alps storm Mudurnu, Sofia and Hristo use townspeople as a shield and start a riot in Goynuk. Bala uncovers a Byzantine soldier disguised as an alp, wearing a cross, and calms the crowd. Claudius escapes through the secret passages, and Hasan Bey receives command of the new land.
