Episode 73 opens with a chess lesson about loyalty and betrayal, then moves to a council where Sultan Mehmed accepts Ishak Pasha’s request to step down as Grand Vizier and gives the seal to Mahmud Pasha. While the army prepares for the Bosnian campaign, Vlad’s disappearance unsettles Targoviste, and Suleyman’s plan to hand him over to Bahadir Pasha does not go as expected. The episode builds toward a large battle near Bobovac against Gabor’s allied forces.
A New Grand Vizier and a Ready Army
Mehmed asks his viziers about Ishak Pasha’s request to be dismissed because of his health. Zaganos Pasha and Mahmud Pasha both leave the decision to the Sultan, and Mehmed names Mahmud Pasha as his deputy and Grand Vizier. Ishak Pasha becomes Anadolu BeylerBey and keeps his place in the council. The two pashas then report that weapons, armor, healing tents and gunpowder barrels covered in leather are ready, and that the Quran has been recited under Mufti Enam Effendi. Later, Mehmed warns Mahmud not to call Shahzade Mustafa to the camp without his permission.
Vlad, Suleyman and the Search by the Sava
Suleyman holds Vlad prisoner and tells him that Bahadir Pasha will arrive before sunset. When Bahadir and his men search along the Sava river, they find only the signs of a broken camp. In Targoviste, Dragon says he will check every stone in Transylvania to find Vlad. Mehmed’s scouts report a burnt-out fire and a cart, but no trace of Suleyman’s body. Later scenes show Vlad with the upper hand. He tells Suleyman a new dog needs training, and Suleyman warns Dragon that Vlad killed Draven.

Note: Your TV and your phone, tablet, laptop or a PC need to be on the same network. Gabor tells Queen Katarina that his council is for men only, and she answers that she could have poisoned his wine if she wanted to. Matthias sends cannons and rifles to Bosnia. Meanwhile Ishak Pasha takes the Drina castle, and Shamil Bey’s volunteers are ambushed. Mehmed’s spies report 50,000 Bosnian soldiers, 30,000 Hungarian knights and 10 to 15 thousand Wallachian soldiers waiting near Bobovac. Mehmed repeats the chess lesson from the opening, sends the azabs and volunteers forward, and the fighting begins. The last minutes bring the brothers’ conflict to the field.
