“The red apple isn’t Al-quds but tawhid.”
Episode 57 of Saladin Ayyubi opens with Salahuddin under pressure from every side. Melik Izzeddin demands Qadi Fazil, Jerusalem wants a treaty, and the Sultan has to decide what peace is worth. He agrees to talks in Al-Quds, gives up Sevbek Castle for the captive Mazhar, and then has to face commanders who doubt him. Months pass in silence while a minbar is carved, and the Hajj road becomes the real test of the fragile peace.
Two Days to Prove the Truth
Salahuddin meets Melik Izzeddin and speaks plainly. He does not want Muslim blood on his sword, so he asks for two days to prove that Qadi Fazil is innocent. Izzeddin agrees, warning that no brotherhood or law will remain if the claim fails. In Jerusalem, King Baldwin sets a last term: Sevbek Castle in exchange for Mazhar. Tempers flare outside the hall, but Salahuddin accepts. Back in Damascus, Mazhar’s documents point to Emir Kaymaz, and Izzeddin apologizes to Fazil.
Doubts Inside the Camp
The peace costs Salahuddin the trust of his own men. Gokboru and Atsiz question the loss of a castle, and Qadi Fazil says plainly that the decision was wrong. Salahuddin answers with the treaty of Hudaybiya and a question about what makes Al-Quds sacred. The council reaches one answer: tawhid and brotherhood come first. Meanwhile Guy takes the throne in Jerusalem after Baldwin’s death, and five months of waiting leave Chatillon more restless every day.

The Hajj Road and the Minbar
While Salahuddin works on the minbar and refuses to be hurried, Chatillon plots to bend the Hajj route with a replaced guide. Balian doubles the patrols and escorts the pilgrims himself. Then Salahuddin orders the minbar loaded onto a cart and sets out for Mu’tah, where Muslims first fought together. The road brings terrible news, and the cost of the peace becomes clear to everyone. The final moments leave one question open: what will Salahuddin call his brothers to do?
