The episode begins with a farewell. Vefa Sultan finds it hard to leave the mosque and the presence of the Prophet, but a companion reminds him that hearts stay attached wherever the body goes. The group talks about the souvenirs they bought for the people waiting at home, and about a fragrance they never managed to find in the market. Then a boy snatches a bag, and the chase that follows leads them to a cave where wounds were bandaged after the Battle of Uhud. It is described as a refuge for healing wounds.

In the cave, a sheik welcomes Vefa Sultan and describes the road of love as a rose garden. Its fragrance is pleasant, but its thorns are plentiful and its autumn is long. Later in the city, Yareli speaks about love while the Janissary Zulfikar Agha pressures shopkeepers for money. Subash steps in and reminds everyone that Yareli is in love, and that his heart should not be broken.
