Episode 7 opens with a storm and a missing prisoner. Mullah Numan, on his way to exile, vanishes when his wagon is wrecked, and the authorities order a search that leaves no stone unturned. With Somuncu Baba’s help, Numan hides among nomads and tries to work out who set the slander against him. Meanwhile Ayse Hatun cannot sit still, and a new lead on Karaca Halil pulls the group toward a closed door.
A Storm, a Wagon and a Disguise
Ayse Hatun runs off in fear, unable to sit still while Numan is out on the road in the storm. Soon word reaches an Efendi that the horses panicked in the thunder and broke the wagon carrying the prisoner. The soldiers think Numan ran away, and the order is to find him, dead or alive. Numan wakes in Enguru with Somuncu Baba beside him, then walks out dressed in nomadic clothes. Somuncu Baba says the Konak is not safe yet, because nobody knows who they are up against.
Heysem, Yunus and the Nomad Camp
On the road Somuncu Baba teases Numan, calling the scholar a Hamal who carries knowledge on the back like a pack. At the nomad camp Numan meets Ama Dede, a blind shepherd who speaks of Asik Yunus and the language of the heart. When the talk turns to swords, Numan admits his hand is used to a pen and offers to teach instead. He tells the story of Ibn al-Haytham, the Nile and the Sultan, then uses three candles in the dark to show how light lets us see.

The Hunt for Karaca Halil
Cihanshah reports that Karaca was released the day before and has not been tried at the Court. Numan agrees that catching him and making him talk would help, and the Bey tells Cihanshah to investigate. Elsewhere Sheref Efendi admits there is no trace of Numan in Enguru or the Konak, while Rustem wonders whether Numan found Karaca Halil first. Later Somuncu Baba turns up and the group heads to Karaca Halil’s house, where neighbors say he went in and never came out. The episode closes at his door.
