Episode 2 of Imam Ghazali opens in the ashes of a family home. A fire has taken the books and memories gathered over the years, and Ahmad quickly wonders whether his brother Salih is to blame. Sheikh Feyzullah Efendi offers shelter at his lodge, and the sons are urged to continue to the scholarly debates in Nishapur. Elsewhere, Seyyide Khatun seeks answers about a dream, and a dangerous road tests everyone’s patience.
After the Fire
The family stands among the ruins. The father says everything has turned to ash, including their books and belongings. Ahmad asks where Salih is and wonders aloud whether the fire began because of his dirty dealings, though his mother warns him that such suspicion is a sin. Sheikh Feyzullah Efendi invites the family to stay at his lodge until they get back on their feet. The father then tells his two sons to go to the debates in Nishapur, but one brother struggles to leave his parents in this state, and tension grows between the brothers.
Salih Returns to His Men
Salih stands before the men who burned his house. He promises loyalty, asks them to leave his family out of it, and says his life is the last thing he has left. He is then given a duty and told to take men with him. Later, on a mission he says he leads, Salih insists that no one will be killed. A caravan approaches from the north and the ambush begins. Goods are seized, and in the aftermath the survivors say that the guards are dead.

Note: Your TV and your phone, tablet, laptop or a PC need to be on the same network. In Nishapur, a young scholar from a small village near the city answers questions in front of Imam al-Haramayn and the Vizier. He is asked whether knowledge leads to salvation or ruin, how the heart is cleansed, and how spiritual knowledge is reached. He answers that knowledge is a path, and its end depends on intention and heart. Seyyide Khatun, meanwhile, visits Sheikh Nessac about her dream of a mujaddid and hears that truth finds its traveler. She sets out for Tus, but the road has other plans, and the next day brings new questions on destiny and free will.
